Born and raised in the DMV, Bigg Tie has always been a huge fan of music. Growing up in a musical household, various genres have had an impact on his upbringing. While his father sang in the church choir, his mother loved playing jams from artists such as Luther Vandross, Next, The Isley Brothers, and R. Kelly among many more.
Being a very social teenager, Tie usually got along with those his age as well as those older than him. As he continued listening to new music, he has become a huge fan of artists such as 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Linkin Park, Lil Wayne, along with plenty of hit makers during the 90’s era.
During his senior year in high school, Tie released his very first mixtape in collaboration with a well known DMV artist Avionadramida entitled Doobie Time. After getting his first experiences in studio, Bigg Tie headed to Salisbury University to study Communications and Media Production. During that time, Tie released a string of singles every week with #TieTrackTuesdays. While this helped him stay somewhat relevant in an already tight climate, he knew it was time to take it to the next level.
Soon after, Tie was able to work with a record label under Universal in California. Being signed for two years was a huge step for this hungry artist. Learning some ins and outs of the music industry, inner creativity, and getting more studio experience allowed Tie to take his talents to Atlanta, GA where he released his 7-Track EP I’m Me. Containing 0 features, this project was another step forward as Tie was able to showcase his lyrical ability over different types of production.
Since then, Bigg Tie has performed at various venues in Atlanta and Florida. With a few new singles under his belt and a collaboration with DMV artist and Reality TV star Lola Monroe, Tie is looking to continue on his path of music excellence! Stay Tuned for new releases!!
